Psychosocial Support Program
Staff at the Smith Breast Care Center offers a range of emotional support services for patients and family members. Breast cancer may normally cause emotional distress, for both patients and family members. Psychosocial interventions can help buffer women with breast cancer from the effects of stresses and help them cope more effectively. Spouses, children, and other family members are welcome to participate in this program.
The Breast Care Center offers:
- Individual psychological counseling for patients and/or family members by a Clinical Psychologist.
- Evaluation of cancer and cancer treatment - related sleep disturbances such as insomnia.
- Supportive group therapy.
- Community Support Services
- American
Cancer Society: offers a variety of support services
including Reach to Recovery visitors and group therapy. Contact
