H-19895 DCIS Neoadjuvant Trial of Lapatinib for the Treatment of Women with DCIS Breast Cancer (Open in BCC only)
We are seeking volunteers for a Ductal Carcinoma In-situ (DCIS) Breast Cancer study to determine the dose of lapatinib (Tykerb) that may stop the growth of breast cancer cells. The study will also look at the side effects that may occur when taking this study drug.
- Volunteers must be diagnosed by core needle biopsy with DCIS without invasion. They must be HER-2 positive DCIS.
- Volunteers can have no prior surgery for the DCIS.
Participants will take lapatinib/placebo for up to 6 weeks prior to surgery. Tissue will be obtained at the time of surgery.
