Brief Description of Research:
Ras proteins are key switches for signal transduction pathways that are central
for the control of cell growth and differentiation. We are using a combination
of Genetic, Molecular and Cell Biology, and Biochemistry to address two key
issues: (1) Ras proteins engage in a complex network of molecular interactions.
How is any given Ras protein connected to this web of interactions with specificity?
(2) Which downstream pathways controlled by Ras are important for
cancer formation?
