Suzanne Fuqua Laboratory

LABORATORY DESCRIPTION

Our laboratory research space is on the 12th floor of the Alkek Research Tower. Our facilities encompass approximately 2000 square feet of space consisting of 4 laboratory modules, three equipment rooms, an ABI 310 DNA sequencer, an Affymetrix GeneChip Workstation 450 and a Scanner Model 3000, a contained radioactive workspace, and access to shared facilities for centrifugation, digital imaging, dark room, and immunofluorescence/confocal microscopy. In addition the laboratory contains a fully equipped tissue culture room consisting of three sterile hoods and six incubators. Our laboratory has two fume hoods, six -20° and three -80° freezers, four 4° C dairy cases, six personal computers, and two laser printers available to project personnel. Our laboratory is configured with benches and desk space for 16 lab personnel. This research area is fully equipped for molecular biology (thermal cyclers, hybridization ovens, incubators, plate readers, and electrophoresis units) and cell biology. Dr. Fuqua's office is adjacent to her laboratory. The laboratory personnel utilize fully networked computers and have access to copy and fax machines as well as secretarial support.
