JOB SUMMARY
Identifies candidates for breast tumor bank. Explains and obtains informed consent in English and Spanish (face-to-face and over phone). Assists in the collection of fresh and archival breast tissue from pathology and operating room. Collects and enters data into study database. Maintains records for study. Performs other job related duties as assigned. This job requires a lot of walking and standing around.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES
Collects and enters data into study database. Communicates with medical personnel who are caring for study subjects. Maintains records and regulatory documents for study. May correspond with patient throughout study. Composes and types study correspondence and other documentation. May recruit, advertise, and screen for research patients. May assist in determining patient eligibility for research protocols. Orders supplies and equipment. Performs other job related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Required: Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.
Experience: Required: One year of relevant experience.
Certification/Licenses/Registration: None required.
Must be able to explain the study and consent patients in Spanish and in English.
*** Must be able to walk long distances and stand for long periods of time.
